Robert L. Corbin

Bob is an experienced trial lawyer. He has litigated successfully before federal and state courts throughout the United States and before a variety of administrative agencies such as the SEC, DLA and the Departments of the Army and Air Force. Bob has represented numerous subjects and targets in grand jury investigations.

Many of Bob's cases involve parallel criminal, civil and administrative proceedings involving individual and corporate clients with ongoing activities in regulated businesses. He has conducted numerous internal investigations, designed effective corporate compliance programs and been highly successful in helping clients avoid the filing of criminal charges, SEC enforcement actions, debarment and/or exclusion.

Bob works with clients to minimize the pressures which litigation places upon them, collaborates well with co-counsel and, when appropriate, builds bridges with adversaries to avoid or settle litigation. He is experienced in dealing with the media and considers keeping clients away from press scrutiny an important part of his representation.

In 1991, Bob was Staff Counsel to the Independent Commission on the Los Angeles Police Department (The Christopher Commission) and in 2000 was appointed a Deputy General Counsel on the Rampart Independent Review Panel. Bob is a member of the ABA White Collar Crime Committee (National Vice-Chair, Health Care Fraud Sub-Committee, 2001), California Regional Subcommittee of the ABA White Collar Crime Committee (Vice-Chair, 1998-2004), Federal Bar Association (Member, Board of Directors, 2001-2007), the Los Angeles County Bar Association and the National Health Lawyers Association. He has been a guest lecturer at Boalt Hall, Loyola, U.S.C. and Pepperdine Law Schools and a panelist on numerous continuing education seminars sponsored by the California Regional Subcommittee of the ABA White Collar Crime Committee, Federal Bar Association, CLE International and the Los Angeles County Bar Association.

Bob has served as a Deputy Federal Public Defender for the Central District of California and also served as an attorney for the Legal Aid Society for the City of New York. In these positions, he was the sole attorney for dozens of trials and appeals.

Bob graduated from Colgate University in 1967 and Fordham University School of Law in 1971.  He is a member of the State Bar of California, the Bar of the State of New York, and the Bars of the United States District Courts for the Central District of California and the Southern District of New York and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
